When in Rome

No posts for a while and it’s not because I have forgotten about the blog: I’m traveling! For most of this month I have been I Rome enjoying delicious Italian food, sunny weather and of course the historical sights. So today’s post is a little picture show and hopefully in a couple of weeks I’ll be back in my kitchen and able to try my hand at making some of the delicious food I have had here (zucchini flowers – divine! But I’ve never seen them for sale in Australia, plus it is the wrong season. I think growing my own next spring is the way to go!)

The Colosseum: mind boggling to think stadium construction basically hasn’t changed in 2000 years! They even had a retractable roof (manually rolled in and out by sailors)

Saturday market! Oh how I wish our zucchinis looked like this!

Fresh fish!

Interesting tomatoes. Next year I will try to grow some different varieties.

The Pantheon

St Peters: breathtaking!
